  A Matchbox Moko Lesney b style box for the 9c Merryweather Fire Truck. This box is identified on the end flap as a ‘Fire Escape’ but I think this was an error in the Lesney production, as the early 9a/b model was the Dennis Fire Escape.

  The listings all refer to this vehicle as the Merryweather Marquis Fire Engine but this was too long for the end flap of the box. So its just a fire engine. Released in 1959 and withdrawn in 1966, this is the later issue Matchbox Lesney D style reproduction box for this model.
